Each year the Hall of Fame will grow, and students will ask, “What I can do to make a difference or be selected for this honor.” The location of the “Athletic Hall of Fame” is a focal point in the school where it can be seen by everyone who enters the gym and travels through the school.

The “Athletic Hall of Fame” will continue to provide positive examples of excellence and community involvement by student-athletes and other individuals for our current and future student body of Hot Springs High School who will or have gone into life to be productive citizens of the community and nation.

Hot Springs Bison Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Processs and Procedures

1. Individual or Team Awards

  1. Must have made a significant contribution to Hot Springs athletics as a participant, coach, team, or other relevant personnel connected to the athletic programs.

  2. Nominees must be out of high school no less than 5 years.

  3. Citizenship qualities, societal contributions, military service, proven leadership skills, and special contributors can all be considered.

  4. No individual being nominated can have a felony conviction.

  5. Former State Champions, Conference Champions, All-State, and All-Conference awards are valid nomination criteria.

2. Nomination Process

  1. Nominations must be submitted to the selection committee by January 15th in order to be considered for the immediate year. Nomination forms can be found on the bisonhof.com website.

  2. Nominee may be contacted to obtain any necessary and relevant information.

  3. Selection committee will review nomination forms and additional information to narrow selections to a manageable number each year.

  4. Selection Committee will select no more than four (4) members to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Induction requires a 70% approval by the selection committee members via a blind vote.

  5. Any nominee not being selected will remain as a nominee indefinitely.

  6. All communication connected with the nomination and selection process must remain confidential within the selection committee.

  7. Any individuals chosen for induction will be informed the end of January of the calendar year. At that time current biographies about the recipient must be submitted to the committee.

3. Selection Committee

  1. The Selection Committee will consist of 10–12 voting members.

    1. Committee members must have been a participant, have knowledge of, or been highly involved with Hot Springs High School athletics.

    2. There will be no term limits on committee membership. The committee chairperson has the ability to make membership decisions based upon health issues and special circumstances.

    3. Once established, any new committee members must have a 70% approval by the existing committee.
